2am Party

Claire decided to have a party last night. At 2:30 she woke up screaming, so I went in to check on her and brought her out. Nothing seemed to be wrong.... changed her diaper and rocked her for about 15 minutes, laid her down in the pack and play in the guest room becuase I knew she wasn't going to just drift back to sleep... and of course she cried when I laid her down - I knew she would! What I didn't expect, was for me to walk back to the rocking chair in the playroom, and hear her throw herself against the bedroom door! She had climbed out of the pack and play. We rocked again, got a little medicine for a stuffy nose and congestion, rocked some more and tried to lay down. Before I could even leave the room that leg was over the side and she was running after me again. So by now it's 4 am... I decided to lay down in the twin bed in the guest room with her - at least I could snooze a little! I think I dozed off for a few minutes here and there, but I don't think Claire ever did. So at 5:30 we got up, came downstairs, made Greg's and Meredith's lunches for work and school, and she "helped" me empty the dishwasher. Since then we've been drawing, looking at pictures on the computer, and playing with and old phone (not plugged in)... but NOT sleeping.
