The triplets have decided to give up sippy cups cold turkey! Well, almost cold turkey... I started by offering them a trainer cup about two weeks ago. After that first meal w/ the cup, they refused the sippy cups of milk I offered at the next meal and asked for (demanded?) the trainer cups. They were still getting their water in a sippy, until Mommy and Meredith went to the library one night and super fun Daddy gave them their water in a cup w/ a straw, and the next day they refused their sippy cup with water. So I've packed them all up.
We had their two year well check yesterday and the girls are doing great! Ranging in height from 32 1/2 inches (Melissa) to 33 1/2 inches (Claire), and weight from 22 pounds (Amanda) to 23 pounds 12 ounces (Claire). So relatively skinny and small, but the pediatrician said they are just fine and will probably always be thin (lucky girls!). At age two you can double their height to estimate their height for adulthood, and it ranges from about 5'2" to 5'7". So Daddy's hopes of dominating the high school basketball team might be in jeapordy. In comparison, Meredith at age two was two inches and five pounds bigger! She's thin too, but also really tall.
Claire's eardrum ruptured last week, so she's started antibiotics for an ear infection (again). Then over the weekend Amanda developed a high fever and said her ear hurt. The pediatrician confirmed it yesterday and she's started an antibiotic for an ear infection (again). Looks like we'll be making a trip to the pediatric ENT soon.
It's kind of sad when your just turned 2 year olds have been asking for a tissue, putting it to their baby doll's nose and saying, "Blow!" And really sad when your almost 4 year old is administering antibiotics to all her 'babies' - of the doll, imaginary, and sister variety. The good news is Meredith hasn't been sick since the great ear infection of December 2008 that required three rounds of antibiotics. She didn't even catch the mono that the triplets had last month. Whoo-hoo!

I can't believe your kids aren't using sippies anymore! I thought kids used those until they were five or something. Over-achievers! What are trainer cups, by the way?
