The Best Big Sister...

... has to be Meredith! Especially over the last few days, she has been very attentive to her sisters' needs. On Sunday, we were playing outside and Amanda headed toward the playhouse. Meredith ran over and stopped her saying, "Let me go in first and check for bugs. If they bite me I won't take as long to get better and it won't hurt as much." Isn't that just the sweetest thing you've ever heard!!??

If a sister trips or gets a bump, Meredith is on her feet and running to the refrigerator to get "cold". But not before she gives the sister a big hug. Sometimes Meredith will start running for the fridge (which does require a leap over the gate!) and stop in her tracks realizing that she forgot to hug first. So funny and so cute to watch!

Meredith loves to teach her sisters new songs and games that she learns at school or at her tumbling class. She's teaching them to use their imagination when playing with baby dolls or stuffed animals. On Sunday Claire woke up feeling pretty warm, so I took her temperature. Afterward, Claire took her baby doll's temperature and said she was sick and needed to call the doctor, so the Elmo phone came out and she called the doctor. Melissa then took the thermometer and took her bear's temperature. The bear was sick too, so Melissa asked for the doctor's kit and had to listen to the bears heart and give it a shot. So fun to watch them play.

By watching Meredith practice her tumbling, Amanda has already mastered this skill. Melissa and Claire are still learning theirs. They also love a new game Meredith has taught them called "Ships and Sailors". You'll have to come by and play it with us sometime!
