We have a contract on a house, and this afternoon we are driving there for the inspection tomorrow. We're taking the girls with us so they can see the new house and hopefully understand a little better about moving. We will close on the house there in about 3 weeks, then close on our current home one week later. How perfect is that! Plently of time to get packed and out of this house into the new one.
Greg was talking with the girls yesterday, and asked Melissa if she was going to share a room with Meredith when she moved to her big girl bed. She replied yes, and then told Greg that their room would be pink - a favorite color for both of them.
Claire and Amanda will continue to share a room after the girls move to twin beds from the cribs. The Greg asked Claire what color her room would be. "Yellow!" Again, her favorite color. When Greg asked Amanda what color her room would be, she told him her favorite color, purple. And Amanda really, really, really likes purple. Then she paused for a minute and added, "No, my room will be yellow, because Claire really really likes yellow." Isn't that the sweetest thing ever!? Only two years old and already making a sacrafice for her sister.
Oh, and I can't help but feel partially responsible for their choices of favorite colors. These are the colors they were "assigned" just before birth to help with identification of clothing, feeding, etc.
Another funny thing about Amanda... she's never just hungry, she's really, really hungry. She's never just tired, she's really, really tired.
So off we go on a 4 hour road trip. Clothes, check. Pack-n-plays times three, check. Snacks for the car, check. And most importantly, DVD player/DVD's/car chargers... check!
