Baby Jesus is in time out

Kids say (and do) the funniest things...

Amanda: (just after Christmas) "I'm Mary. I had to put Baby Jesus in time out. He was playing with the ceiling fan."

Claire: "My name is Claire Bear. I do not like mac and cheese."

Melissa: "I do not like babies. I only like bears."

Meredith: "Whydowehavetoputthetreeup?Whyisn'tit Christmasanymore?WillSantabeatthemallnexttimewego?Whywon'thebethere?Willhebringmetoysnextyear? Why doesittakesolongforhimtomakethetoys?WilltheChristmas lightsstillbeup? Why can'twekeepthemupallthetime? You can'tputMYtreeup!HowwillIknowit'smytree?Whenwill Igettoseeitagain?" (yes, there are no spaces... that's b/c sometimes Meredith hardly takes a breath between questions!)

Today Claire was about to lose her temper b/c she did not want to sit by Amanda at the dinner table. I walked with her to her room and talked to her about this, and how it was making Amanda feel... I told her to stay in her room until she was ready to come sit by Amanda at the table and eat dinner. When I left her room, she was standing on the floor by the door. When Greg went to check on her several minutes later, she was in her crib with the tent zipped up.

I've come to realize that when I hear someone call mommy, it only means me about 20% of the time. There's 'Mommy Claire' and 'Mommy Lissa Grace' and 'Mommy Manda Marie' - the triplets take turns pretending to be the mommy. If I hear a "MOM!", it means me.
