Dentists and doctors

On Monday the girls had the priviledge of visiting the dentist! This was the first time for Amanda and Melissa. Meredith has gone twice before for cleanings and x-rays, and Claire went after she fell off the porch swing and bumped her front tooth. They did super! Each one had their x-rays taken (4 for everyone, Claire only let them do 3 and then she just wouldn't hold the film in her teeth for #4) and then their teeth cleaned while they watched a Disney princess movie on a TV screen that hanging on the ceiling right above the chair. They got a bag of goodies and then a visit from the dentist. No cavities - yea!

Then on Thursday, the Amanda and Claire had an appointment with the pediatrician to have their ears checked - they are supposed to have them looked at every six months while they have their tubes in. Both girls have lost the left tube (though it's sitting in the ear canal for both of them, and will eventually work its way out). Claire's right tube is in the process of working its way out of the eardrum, and Amanda's is still in place and looks good. So now we'll see how this fall does and hope for no ear infections!! This was their first visit to the new pediatrician, and she has referred Amanda to an allergist so we can get some testing done to determine exactly what foods she is allergic to. Her appointment is in 2 weeks, and hopefully we'll know more then.
