Read!

Meredith is starting to read some words, and she is SO excited. She's read a short book with a few sight words and lots of "at" words (cat, rat, hat, sat...). She can recognize a few other words too - stop, book...

Sunday at church, the children's minister had a children's sermon and spoke of the importance of reading your Bible. She talked about how when they entered 1st grade, the church would present them with a Bible so that they would have their very own Bible to read each day. Mrs. Carol Ann said that somone once told her that you should read your Bible so much that it falls apart!

So at bathtime that night, the conversation went like this:

Meredith: "When you teach me all the words to read, I will read my Bible as much as you'll let me!"
Mommy: "That's great! You can read it as much as you want." (and another few sentences about how important it is)
Meredith: "Yeah, when I can read, I'll read my Bible so much it will fall apart! I got the idea from Mrs. Carol Ann."
