Amanda: I'm the Mommy

Last night I had Meredith at her tumbling class, and Greg had the triplets at home. He was feeding them dinner when we left. When we got home, Greg told me this story about Amanda...

Claire and Melissa were still eating, but Amanda was insistant that she was done. So Greg cleaned her up and got her out of the chair so she could put her milk away in the fridge. Then Greg went over to turn the TV off (he had been watching something from the kitchen table while they were all eating, but wanted it off when the girls went back into the den). When he came back the table, Amanda said, "I sit Mommy's chair." Greg looked around and Amanda had gotten a bowl for Claire and a bowl for Melissa, and filled it with crackers. Then she climbed in my chair and just sat there watching (no crackers for herself). She told Greg he needed to, "Sit in Daddy's chair," and pointed to Greg's chair. Then she just happily watched her sisters eat their crackers. That's Amanda - the independent care-taker, always on the go!

that is hilarious. I have one of those but the one always changes depending on the moment. Most of the time i have thieves. They like to steal the cookie box and then hide in a corner and eat them as one of them is the "look-out" person. This all happens when I have to have a moment of privacy when going to bathroom. That is no longer an option. When the kids get to be so smart.

She is such a sweetheart-taking care of her sisters like that! Today Drew kept saying, "Daddy Drew, Daddy Drew." Finally he got frustrated that I didn't know what he meant and he pounded his chest and said, "Daddy- Meeeee!" So I guess you have a Mommy and I have a Daddy.
