Isn't that Amazing?!?

Meredith and I sat down with her preschool class picture a few days ago. She was telling me the names of all her classmates, and a little bit about who she played on the swings with or who she colored with. But there was one little boy who's name she just couldn't remember. We went through the pictures again at her request, and again she couldn't remember this little boy's name. That night after dinner, she sat with Greg going over the class picture - telling him everyone's name and a little about them. Again she stopped at this boy's picture and said she couldn't remember his name.

Greg: Do you play with him at school?
Meredith: Yes, I do! We swing and slide together. And I still can't remember his name. Isn't that amazing??

Yes, Meredith - it sure is amazing! What's even funnier is that two days later while we're driving down the road she randomly says, "I remember that boy's name! It was Edwin."

Normally Meredith doesn't forget anything. She has a memory like nothing I've ever seen. She remembers visiting me in the hospital while I was pregnant with the triplets. She remembers her teacher bringing her lunch bag over to our house during Christmas break. She remembers many details about when she fell and broke her arm. And she'll just randomly bring up things a year or more after they happened! I'm just waiting for the day when she tells me about the time she kicked my belly from the inside. "Isnt' that amazing, Mom?"
