And thankfully we get to begin again. I don't think I want to repeat this morning.
Started out early, getting ready for Meredith's 8:30 doctor appointment for her 4 year well check. Nana and GrandBob got here just before 8 to watch the triplets so I could take just Meredtih. We were doing good, until the pediatrician's office called at 8:20 to let us know we missed the appointment. It was at 8:10. So we had to reschedule. For May 11th. Meredith was already in the car getting buckled in by GrandBob. And she wouldn't get out. She thought her birthday was being cancelled - not just the doctor appointment.
Then I had a quick trip with the girls to the grocery store to get some bananas and to meet a lady who was buying some baby stuff. Is any trip a quick trip with 4 small kids? While we were there, a lady who worked at the grocery store was quite taken with the girls, and came back to see them bearing 4 cupcakes full of icing. I politely thanked her and declined them (it was 9:30 in the morning - I didn't want an entire morning of sugar-filled kids with messy clothes!). And the lady got quite upset and stormed off.
When we got home, Nana and GrandBob returned to take Meredith out for her birthday. Her first choice was closed, so we got her to pick Cracker Barrel. Seems harmless enough, right? The trip to the restaurant started out fine, until it had been about 30 minutes since we'd ordered. The triplets had already eaten the pineapple I had brought, had some cheese but didn't want more, were tired of coloring... Meredith had already had two trips to the bathroom, but nothing in the potty... The food finally came, but the waitress forgot to enter the two chicken strip dishes. One belonged to Nana. The other to the triplets. Thirty plus minutes to wait, and still no food for the toddlers (but they see food in front of everyone else). Not a pleasant situation! As chaos was about to ensue (Greg's favorite phrase for our daily life) someone brought us a plate of biscuits to hold the girls over. Then Melissa really wants Meredith's grilled cheese. No, but how about a carrot? Except Meredith doesn't want to share. After a huge discussion, Meredith hands over three carrots . Then Meredith knocked her milk cup over and it rolled onto the floor - lid popped off and milk everywhere. Tears. Lots of tears and sobbing (she can be quite dramatic!). So Nana walked her out to the store for a few minutes. Manager cleans up milk, brings a new one, chicken plates finally arrive! Whoo-hoo! Except the triplets had already filled up on biscuits. Oh well. We'll try to eat out again someday. Maybe on Meredith's 5th birthday.

Oh, my, even I started feeling the stress of that chaos. I hope the chicken fingers were on the house after that! Don't they know better than to leave three two year olds waiting for food??
