Please welcome the newest member of our family!

A snail. Yes, a snail. Meredith found a snail in the yard at Nana and GrandBob's house and wanted to pick it up. Then she wanted to bring it home. Then she wanted to give it a home. And now we have a small terrarium with a snail named "Crawler". The first day or two she (I have been corrected many times, it is NOT a boy snail) was crawling all over her new house. We looked up online how to create a house for her and learned what we'd need to feed her. Meredith is so excited!

However, I fear Crawler is no more, as I have not seen her move yesterday or today. Poor snail. I haven't told Meredith yet. If you see a snail in your yard, please let me know asap! :)
Update: 5/21 3pm Crawler lives! She's munching on a leaf. But we have a back up snail waiting in the wings now, just in case. Which is a good thing because Meredith was just sobbing a little while ago when we were talking about the end of the school year and getting new teachers next year (today was Mrs. Pat's last day, but they still have 2 more days of school next week). When she lost her small doll at SuperTarget a few months ago she sobbed off and on for weeks. I don't think she can handle any more loss right now!

As if you didn't have enough to take care! Actually, she might be pretty easy to take care of now, huh? I'll be on the lookout for one for you.
