Imaginations are exploding around here! For a while, the triplets have been playing with baby dolls - dressing them, holding them, wrapping in a blanket, pretending to feed them... But now, thanks to Meredith, the girls have really starting to branch out to the world of make-believe! Last week Meredith was playing "lion tamer" with them and had them running around roaring like lions. Meredith would corral them to a corner and have them lay down, then they'd run around again roaring. The next day they played again, and they all went searching for baby lions. Looking under rugs, behind pillows, under the sofa... they would yell out, "I found baby lion!" I finally convinced Amanda to go upstairs for a nap by telling her we'd look for baby lions upstair. As soon as we reached the top of the stairs, Amanda ran to the center of the room and squealed, "Baby Lions!!!" pointing to the floor (where there was nothing!). She pretended to carefully scoop them up and 'held' her baby lions the entire time I read and sang to her in the rocking chair. Then she told me that her baby lions were going to nap with her, and she carried them all the way to the pack and play. Claire was next, and as soon as she got upstairs ran to her room where her "baby lion hiding." She also held it while I read and sang to her, and carried it with her to her crib to nap.
Another thing they like to pretend is to go shopping and then go 'bye-bye'. Melissa will dress up with a hat and 2-3 purses, grab a shopping cart and load it with her bear, lots of random things around the playroom, and then walk to the front door yelling "Bye!" and blowing kisses to me and her sisters.

Meredith is the best big sister! Mine like to play pretend go on trips, too. Sweet Luke melts my heart by running back into my arms and yelling, "I'm home, Mommy!" :)
Oh the places you will go and the things you will see. Imaginations make for a happy and fun childhood.
