The lunches are ready...
(Meredith is buying cheese pizza today, and Greg needs a new lunchbag!)

and so are the backpacks...

Claire
MelissaAmanda, Claire and Melissa were really excited about going to preschool today. They have been wanting to go to school like their big sister for a while now. When we got to school, each child had a basket with their name on it to put their lunches and backpacks in. As soon as they put their bags away, they walked right on in - not even looking back to say bye. As soon as I was able to make my way in, the girls were each busy doing their own thing - Amanda and Melissa were doing puzzles and Claire was reading a book.
Kind of weird to come home to a quiet house all by myself! I rested for a bit (I'm still recovering from a cold I had all weekend, and I've been woken up 5 times the last two nights for bathroom visits from various children!), finished the flyer for the mothers of multiples consignment sale, paid some bills, made 2 beds with clean sheets, picked up all the stuff that's accumulated from various places around the house into our room, straightened up the desktop, posted first day pictures on facebook, did a load of laundry, went to Walmart, and ate lunch. Wow - I don't think I've done that much in 3 1/2 hours in a long time. I could have done a lot more if I'd been feeling better - maybe Thursday! :)
The girls will attend preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 - 1. When I picked them up today they were so happy, and immediately began telling me about things they had done during their school day. They're excited to go back! As we walked to the car, Melissa asked if on their next school day I could just drop them off and they'd walk in by themselves. You're growing up fast girls, but let's slow down... just a bit.
