Expressing some personality

Here's a picture of the girls yesterday morning. I no longer have as much say in what they wear! I still dress the triplets in matching or coordinating clothing sometimes, but more and more they are wanting to pick out their own colors.

Today when I opened the dresser drawer, Melissa saw this blue shirt and asked to wear it. Amanda requested purple (she's the only one who has stuck to her 'assigned' color all the time). And this time Claire requested purple too! I convinced her to wear this shirt w/ purple flowers and got her to wear her yellow in her shorts.

Lately Claire has also been requesting to wear pink, and sometimes she can convince Melissa to trade pajamas with her. Melissa's are pink and Claire's are lime green. And sometimes if I have matching shirts in coordinating colors Claire and Melissa will switch colors. But Amanda always wants purple. She loves purple! She has a purple baby (the doll's clothes are purple), purple milk (the cup is purple), a purple plate to eat off of, purple sunglasses. The one thing that is not purple... her shoes.

Speaking of shoes - this is what makes the picture of us going to the store to buy daddy some new pants even more funny. I cut off their shoes in the picture above because I didn't want you to be distracted by their shoes! So here you go - they each picked out their own shoes:

Yellow shorts and hot pink cowboy boots. There's got to be some new fashion trend developing in New York or Paris that only Claire knows about!

After dinner yesterday, we took the girls to the library. Still wearing the same clothes, Claire put on her beloved pink boots again. But this time, so did Amanda. And so did Melissa. I know Meredith would have put her boots on too, except she's outgrown them. I've been on the lookout for a new pair for a while... hopefully I'll find some soon!
