Stocking Up

Walgreen's had a great sale on diapers a couple weeks ago - they were all 1/2 price! That came out to about 15 cents per diaper (for size 4), which is much less than what we usually pay. We used to buy diapers at Sam's for about 17 or 18 cents each, but they raised their prices, so then I started buying at Walmart, and they were about 19 cents per diaper. And I'm buying the store brand here! So if you think about it, each time I change diapers - that's 50 - 60 cents. Times 4 or 5 diaper changes per day! (Add that up for when they used to go through 8 - 10 diapers a day!!) So when the diapers went on sale at Walgreen's, we stocked up. But at Sam's we'd buy 2-3 boxes of almost 200 diapers at a time. At Walmart, I'd buy 2-3 boxes of about 70 diapers. At Walgreen's they only come 30 to a pack. So Greg made a tour of 3 Walgreen's by his work and bought all they had. We unloaded them from his car one night after the girls were in bed. The next day after I had moved them all to the den after breakfast, I stayed in the kitchen for a few minutes to clean up dishes and when I went to the den, this is what I found:

So not only do you see a bunch of monkeys, but you see our stockpile of diapers. You're probably thinking, "Wow, that's a lot of diapers!!" But one pack lasts us about 2 days (if we're lucky), so this pile will last about a month, maybe a little more. I should probably tell you that there's about 25 packs of diapers upstairs under the girls' cribs (I made the Walgreen's tour by our house). Maybe that will last until the girls are potty trained! (I'd better get busy!)
